MILAN is a biennial congregation of littoral navies conducted by Indian Navy at the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, under the aegis of the Andaman and Nicobar Command. MILAN provides an excellent opportunity to the participating navies to come together in a spirit of collaboration and mutual understanding to nurture stronger ties.
The first MILAN was held in 1995 with five participating nations: India, Indonesia, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
MILAN 2018 is being held at Port Blair from 06 March to 13 March 2018 with the underlying theme of ‘Friendship Across the Seas’. The 16 countries which are participating in the exercise include Australia, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Myanmar, New Zealand, Oman, Vietnam, Thailand, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Kenya and Cambodia.
