Coronavirus and the Future of the Workplace in India | Amitabh Kant

As India witnesses a rigorous lockdown of over 80 cities and districts in the country, including the national capital, there is increasing reliance on technology to contain the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic. With most offices switching to teleworking or ‘work from home’, can we posit the Indian workforce as rapidly moving towards a more flexible work environment? Can we expect the public sector to follow suit? Does this transition require reforms in our labour laws? What is the overall impact of this outbreak on the Indian economy and what does it mean for the small and medium industries?
